Departure

Tambolaka, Southwest Sumba; around 12.00 p.m.

Return

Waingapu, East Sumba; around midday

Day 1: Tambolaka – Ratenggaro – Bwanna Beach

We’ll pick you at Tambolaka airport and drive to local restaurant for having lunch and short breaks.  Then, you will head to Kodi, to visit Ratenggaro Village which offers a unique local settlement with its culture and historical sites.  In the late afternoon, spend time to unwind the sunset at Bwanna Beach and Mareha Cape.

Day 2: Waikuri Lagoon – Lapopu – Waingapu

Today, we are visiting Waikuri Lake, before heading east.  Enjoy the surrounding scenery, take a swim in its crystal clear water.  You will also visit Mandorak Beach which is nearby.  Next, you’ll arrive at Praijing Village, a megalithic village situated on a hill where you can have an amazing overview of entire village surrounded by greeneries.  Continue along the way to Lapopu Waterfall for a relaxing activities, like sightseeing and swimming on it’s natural pond.  Arrive at Waingapu at the end of the day.

Day 3: Waimarang – Tanarara – Walakiri Beach

Drive eastward where you’ll stop by Tanarara Village.  Enjoy the view and take pictures of this amazing savanna hills.  Next to Waimarang Waterfall, have a bit challenging trek of about 30 minutes leads you to this exotic and pristine waterfall.  In the evening, finish your day towards Walakiri Beach to watch sunset before going back to hotel.

Day 4: Tanggedu – Purukambera – Wairinding Hills

After a hearty breakfast,  drive north for an adventurous drive to the village of Tanggedu.  Arrival at the area, you will have a pleasant walk through local plantation, traditional houses, and wide savanna, and finally climb down to the waterfall.  Get charmed by its beautiful scenery of twin waterfall, and the bluish river flow flanked by a canyon and lush trees.  On the way back, you’ll stop by Purukambera and Wairinding Hills for sunset watching.

Day 5: Waingapu – Airport Transfer

On the last day of this trip, visit Raja Prailiu Kampung to see the design of Ikat Fabric.  Don’t miss the chance to take pictures wearing Sumba’s traditional clothes including ornaments like weapons, necklaces, etc.  Drop-off airport for return flight
